FAQS

The civil ceremony will begin promptly at 11 o’clock in the morning on Sunday November 8th, 2015.

The cocktail hour will begin at half past 11, followed by a brunch reception at half past 12 o’clock in the afternoon.
Please visit this page from the New Haven Museum’s website for directions.

Please consult the customised map for walking directions, and the locations of additional parking and hotels.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 11 o’clock in the morning, and will be on the shorter side, so it may work best to arrive about fifteen minutes before 11.

Remember that New Haven has many one-way streets and limited free parking, so it is wise to give yourself plenty of time.
There is limited free parking in the back of the museum. Additionally, there is free weekend parking in a Yale-owned lot just around the corner from the museum on Trumbull Street.

Please consult this page from the New Haven Museum’s website for more information.
Parking in New Haven: There is limited metered street parking in New Haven, and the Omni and New Haven hotels will have garage parking for a fee. In addition to using change or a credit card to pay for street parking, you can download the Parkmobile App to your mobile device and use that instead.

Parking for the wedding: Yale University opens most of its many parking lots to the public on the weekends. Lot 37 on Trumbull Street near the museum is one of these, so paying to park on the day of reception should not be necessary.
Comfortable, semi-formal attire is suggested: jackets or suits; short or long cocktail or formal dresses.
We've secured room blocks at the Omni Hotel on Temple Street and Church Street and the New Haven Hotel on George Street and Temple Street

Please consult Travel & Accommodations section for more details.
The favor of a reply is requested by October 8th, 2015.
The cocktail hour and reception will be in the same location (though a different floor of the building) as the ceremony, so please feel free to explore the different exhibitions on view at the New Haven Museum whilst you eat, drink and make merry!
Yes, hors d’oeuvres and brunch will served. Eat a light breakfast!
Many, if not most, menu options will be dairy free and/or vegetarian, though there will be meat/dairy options available as well. No seafood or shellfish will be present, as the groom has a severe allergy.
We have taken care to make the menu as flexible as possible for those with allergies or restrictions. If you have further dietary concerns, please let us know when you RSVP. The caterer is very flexible and can manage many requests.
We have hired a professional photographer and have entrusted her with the sole responsibility of capturing the special moments of the day. Guests are welcome to take pictures during the reception, but we do respectfully ask that guests please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony - this includes pictures taken with mobile devices.

We thank you most sincerely for your understanding!
The reception should end closer to 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
There will not be transportation provided between the New Haven Museum and hotels in town, however the museum is a 15 to 17 minute walk from the New Haven and Omni Hotels. Via car, the travel time drops to about 10 minutes or less.

Please refer to the list of car services/cabs in the Travel & Accommodations section for more details.
We would sincerely like nothing more than the pleasure of your company to help us celebrate our special day! We do however, have a registry page. Please click here for more information.
As indicated in the at-home cards sent with guests’ invitations, the bride and groom will remain John Siwicki and Jennifer Nolte after their wedding.
Please feel free to email John (johnsiwicki AT gmail dot com) or Jenn (retrojayne AT gmail dot com) with any questions or concerns.

We look foward to seeing you at the wedding!
